This charming guest house is situated on a small Chardonnay wine farm in the heart of the Klein Karoo, on the edge of Calitzdorp, 300 m off the main road and
50 km west of Oudtshoorn. 

The four double en-suite bedrooms are tastefully decorated and furnished with country style pieces.  Enjoy the generous hospitality and relax in the lounge with open fireplace, TV, games, books and kitchenette.  A country style breakfast is served with apricots, figs and grapes.  3 Star grading from the Tourism Grading Council.


Calitzdorp is a corner of Kannaland (Klein Karoo) reserved for lovers of port wines, quaint old buildings and peace of mind.

Welgevonden is for those who like to combine these things with warm hospitality.

Reenen & Bri‰tte Barry offer 4 en-suite bedrooms, delightfully furnished with country style pieces & patchwork. Relax in the sitting room with open fireplace, television and kitchenette. Bri‰tte enjoys cooking, treat yourself to her country style breakfasts with apricots, figs & grapes in season. Three wine cellars and restaurants within walking distance.

The rooms are in an outbuilding dating back to 1880. All the rooms open onto a verandah which overlooks the garden. Reed ceilings, patchwork quilts, cross-stitch wallhangings, down duvets and family heirloom furniture reflects the lifestyle of the Klein Karoo.

... And there are wall heaters, overhead fans and hair dryers to help make your stay even more comfortable.

Directions

We are situated 300 m off the main road i.e. R62. The guest house is well sign posted in the main road. Turn into St. Helena Rd (a gravel road just before you cross the bridge coming form Cape Town.) After 300 m you will get another sign for us.
