This is a working ostrich farm and Manie and Margaret Potgieter are the 3rd generation Potgieters on the farm.

Seven km off the R62, between Calitzdorp and Oudtshoorn, Buffelskloof Guest Farm offers you an unforgettable stay between the red stone hills.

Here you will find peace and tranquillity like never experienced before. Buffelskloof Guest Farm offers you the choice of staying in any of its four uniquely restored farm cottages. The names of the cottages are Outa Piet se Huis , Outa Dolf se Huis , Ou Mac se Huis, De Oude Waenhuis and De Oude Opstal. Each name tells a story of either the original inhabitants or what the building originally was used for.

Each one of these cottages is surrounded by the red stone hills and the nearby river offers relief from the Klein Karoo heat.

Accommodation

De Oude Waenhuis

This little cottage might be smaller
than the others, but where it lacks
in size it makes up in charm. It
overlooks a dam with ducks (if the
otter doesn’t catch them). Ideal for
2 people.

De Oude Waenhuis offers you:

De Oude Opstal

This was the original homestead on the farm,
circa 1700, situated
next to a dam with wild water birds.

This house is ideal for big families/groups.

De Oude Opstal offers you:

Inside & outside braai areas
Fully equipped kitchen
Four bedrooms
Three bathrooms
T.V.

This newly renovated cottage is
away from everyone and everything.
When sitting on the stoep, you have
the most magnificent view
of the red stone hills.

Ou Mac se Huis offers you:

Inside & outside braai areas,
Fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms
with ensuite bathrooms, one with a
queen size bed & one with two
single beds.

The Garden Rondavel

This cosy rondavel is ideal for a couple
who do not want to spend time in
the kitchen, but instead enjoy all the
outside activities our farm offers.
Your host can supply you with freshly
baked bread, fresh meat from our farm
as well as fresh fruit & vegetables in
season. 

The Garden Rondavel offers you:

2 single beds,
a bathroom,
coffee making facilities,
an outside braai area.

Outa Dolf se Huis

A beautiful restored farm cottage Outa Dolf se Huis is nestled between the mountains.

Outa Piet se Huis

A thatched roof cottage situated next to a river.
