DescriptionVisitors can choose between a double bedroom or a one room – open plan self-catering chalet or a luxury three bedroom house. At Oudtshoorn Holiday Resort we offer 24-hour reception and friendly service, because your comfort always comes first. The resort offers a relaxed atmosphere in the midst of lovely Karoo gardens, and yet it is within walking distance from the shopping centers in town and a stone's throw from attractions such as Arbeidsgenot, the suspension bridge, the CP Nel Museum and spectacular ostrich feather palaces. In summer guests can cool down in the resort's fenced-in saltwater swimming pool, or visit Oudtshoorn's olympic standard municipal pool next to the resort. Oudtshoorn Holiday Resort is the ideal venue to exchange stories around a campfire, or to simply relax under the starlit Karoo sky. The lovely view over the Swartberg Mountains, the calm, windless nights and the contagious tranquility of the surroundings will ensure that you return here time after time. One of Oudtshoorn's former mayors, Mr N.A. Smit, after whom the resort was named, established a spectacular Karoo Garden with rare succulent plants in the resort. After his death the garden was badly neglected, until the resort came under new management in 2002. An extensive process to restore the garden to its former glory was initiated recently.
